Local author Jennifer Best to sign “Best Family Adventures: San Luis Obispo County” June 24

Local author Jennifer Best will be on hand to sign copies of “Best Family Adventures: San Luis Obispo County” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday June 24 at The Novel Experience, 779 Higuera St., San Luis Obispo.

Finding family-friendly activities in San Luis Obispo County is a cinch thanks to her book due to hit bookstore shelves June 10. The 224-page paperback, “Best Family Adventures: San Luis Obispo County,” features more than 500 activities, clubs and places of interest in and around San Luis Obispo County. Trails, parks, museums, nature centers, aquariums, waterslides, skate parks and more are detailed in this homespun effort that includes descriptions, websites, phone numbers, driving directions and nearly 100 photographs.

Best was born and raised in San Luis Obispo where she graduated from San Luis Obispo High School. She was a newspaper reporter and communications director before turning to freelance writing in 2000. Most recently she has focused on detailed research with her own assistants: her daughters.
